The Zypendaal park is situated not far from the center of Arnhem. The park is hilly and wooded with old trees and meadows. Through the park runs the St. Jansbeek river , which forms in some places little ponds.
The Sonsbeek park is lying to the south of Zypendaal park. There are also many ponds and brooks, where numerous herons, ducks and swans feel at ease.
These parks and a few other parks make Arnhem one of the most beautiful cities in the Netherlands.

I just yesterday returned from a trip route Chelyabinsk – Naberezhnye Chelny – Kazan – Nizhny Novgorod – Cheboksary -Elabuga. Almost 3000 km on the car. Smoke began just behind Naberezhnye Chelny. At first it was very difficult to breathe, but the next day we got accustomed to this smoke and almost did not notice it. On the way back the smoke has got to Ufa. Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan were also in the smoke, the sun was not visible. Day temperature was up to 42 degrees, night temperature were dropping to 30. In Nizhny Novgorod, there was no rain from June 25, in Cheboksary, the church arranged the procession to ask for rain. Fields are of yellow colour, wheat is nearly all burnt out (not from the fire, but from the sun), the harvest will not be.
The problem is not so much in a shortage of vehicles, but in the absence of roads. Federal Highway M7 is in the smoke. What about rural roads, the villages were burnt out until fire-fighters arrival. In Nizhny Novgorod we were told of how one village was burnt for 20 minutes, 350 houses, the fire spread through the lake width of 200 m. No wind, stuffy, and when a fire starts, strong air flows occur because of the temperature difference, such a fiery cyclone, and it is very difficult to extinguish the fire. A fiery wind “blows” from the epicentre of the fire, burning embers scatter in all directions.

In late July I took a day trip to the mountain range Nurali. It is located in Uchalinsky region of Bashkortostan but very close to Miass town of Chelyabinsk region. The relief of the ridge Nurali differs somewhat from the rest of the Southern Urals. The mountains are bare and brown, as in Tajikistan. They are pretty low, just about 800 meters high, but the impression is as if you climb high mountains. On the top you can see all the beauty of this mountainous country: no people, no empty bottles. This place looks very rough and even scary to climb up the ridge.
On the one of the pictures is the lake Aushkul. Lake water seems green because of the mineral bottom. Actually it’s not so far from a large deposit of copper ore in Uchalinsky region of Bashkortostan. Click picture to see photo album:
In May of this year we visited the town of Kumasi, Ghana. Interesting city, about half a million people lives there. The city is known for its market, which is the largest market in Ghana and on which goods are brought from all over the country. There are many banks and they are located in the most beautiful buildings. The rest of the city consists of private houses which are built usually of plywood or boards. Sometimes these houses are very small and do not even have windows. This is certainly surprising.
But the impression is smoothed by abundance of vegetation. Kumasi is a real garden city. Right on the streets grow bananas, palms, mango, papaya, orange trees, cacao trees, cassava and simply beautiful and unusual trees. Banana gardens are very popular, as a rule they adjoin the wealthier homes. Directly in the city you can see the mango and orange farms. Everyone in Ghana knows that Kumasi is a place of the fascinating, flourishing trees and plants. We have never seen before such a green city!

This park is located right nearby the houses of the North-West district of the city of Chelyabinsk. On a hot summer day people like to walk along the paths of the park, listen to the birds singing and enjoy the bright colors of summer. Many residents of the area come to the park with their families or just alone. Someone organizes a picnic for friends and someone just tans. When you unexpectedly see horses, an even stronger feeling of close contact with nature comes.
Park smoothly turns into the forest, which stretches for tens of kilometers. In summer and autumn you can collect mushrooms and berries there, and in winter you can enjoy skiing. Click picture to see photo album:
