Russian birches

This park is located right nearby the houses of the North-West district of the city of Chelyabinsk. On a hot summer day people like to walk along the paths of the park, listen to the birds singing and enjoy the bright colors of summer. Many residents of the area come to the park with their families or just alone. Someone organizes a picnic for friends and someone just tans. When you unexpectedly see horses, an even stronger feeling of close contact with nature comes.

Park smoothly turns into the forest, which stretches for tens of kilometers. In summer and autumn you can collect mushrooms and berries there, and in winter you can enjoy skiing. Click picture to see photo album:

Forest-Park, Haan, Germany

There are places where the boundary between the park and the city is missing: either park in the city, or town in the park?
How, for example, in the small town of Haan, which is twenty kilometers from Dusseldorf. Houses delicately intrude into the landscape, trying not to disturb the forest variety. Only bright spots of flowers and playgrounds forced to call the forest park.

Park named after Yuri Gagarin, Chelyabinsk, Russia

One might say the industrial city Chelyabinsk is lucky, it is surrounded by the numerous lakes and the forests, many of which became parks. Park named after Yuri Gagarin, first cosmonaut, is the one of the most favorite parks of townspeople. The total area of park makes up 1200 hectare.  Practically there is no boundary between the city and the park; park is inalienable part of the city.

chel-baskakov13 In the park there are many quarries. Once they were used to extract stones for buildings. The main stone is granite. Some quarries, until now, remain “wild”.  On the park paths you will see people on the bicycles, the rollers, and even on the horses, while on the narrow paths they prefer to walk on foot. In winter main entertainment is skiing. The dear place for the families are small hills called ‘’Monks’’.  From one side of park Shershnevskoe water reservoir is located. In summer time townspeople bathe and become sunburnt here, in winter it is a favorite place for fishermen.  Many urban events are conducted on the territory of park. The Day of harvest  is a kind of Ecological festival. It is held by autumn, and everything which is represented on it, is grown by people living in Chelyabinsk.

Parks and forests of Germany

Forests in Germany don’t look like the forests in Russia. German forest is nearly the park, well maintained and clean. In this forest you will not find any dry twig or a fallen tree. Dried parts of trees are neatly stacked in piles covered with polyethylene. Such an exemplary state of forests is directly linked to issues of ownership: the majority of forest lands is private property. Wood does not bring much revenue, but brings a lot of work and hassle. But being an owner of forest in Germany is prestigious, that is why the forests look as cozy as a lawn in front of a warm house.

Xcaret Tour, Mexico

Xcaret Tour is the most famous in Mexico and at the Caribbean islands amusement park. To write about the park is meaningless, you have to feel the park with all organs of sense. Where else can you see how butterflies are born (not to mention the incubator for parrots and quail)? And so many butterflies in one place, flying to the accompaniment of music!

Preparation for the meeting with butterflies is almost a ritual. First of all, you’ll see (and every time surprisingly!) a lot of other exotics – parrots, flamingos, jaguars, turtles and so on.

Then you will pass through the greenhouse with orchids, where smells merge with the background music in there. Then you will float by the Indian raft in the silence of a cozy canyon. Then, in a vest and fins, you will go with the stream of underwater river. Then you will find yourself in the world of corals and fishes.  And the last attraction is butterflies! Fall in the Veluwe national park

What I like about the Veluwe? Sometimes when I walk I feel like walking in the Sahara, beautiful woods in California or the Russian taiga. But after half our walking I can see we live in Holland: houses with antenna’s or just the motorway. The end of a nice day dream.

Information about the Veluwe national park:

The Veluwe is a forest-rich ridge of hills (1100 km²) in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands. Continue reading ‘Fall in the Veluwe national park’
